Cancun and more

We haven´t had many new visitors to the backyard for quite awhile.
But the other day we had a pair of Orioles come to the fountain...

Audubon's Oriole

and then this past week we had a Seminar in Cancun and saw so many beautiful birds...

At the Fairmont Hotel where we stayed...

Great Kiskadee
This was the best photo I could get of this bird from our balcony...

Green Jay

Several of them came to visit the balcony next to ours, and they were beautiful!

We put out some food for these guys and they came by the dozens!
I think this one with the yellow bill must be a  baby.

Turkey Vulture
We saw some of these when we went down to the beach by the hotel

We saw these when we visited the Ruins at Tulum...

Tropical Kingbird

And then we went on a boat tour of the canals surrounding the hotel, and we saw so many birds!

Roseate Spoonbill

Snowy Egret
just a bit different than the Cattle Egrets we see in Hawaii

to the left of the Spoonbill you can see a
Common Moorhen

here is a picture with the Moorhen, Spoonbill and the Egret all together

Neotropic Cormorant
There were a lot of these on the river

Great Blue Heron

American Coot

This was such a fun trip for us because so many of the birds we saw were new to us.
